MightyText has delved into a territory no other messaging app has ventured. This ingenious communication tool enables users to send and receive SMS from their PC. In other words, you don’t have to stay glued to your phone to carry on a texting conversation.

While texting is MightyText’s most prominent feature, it’s far more than a one-trick pony. Users can also set up call alerts, text via their Gmail account, block numbers, create contact lists, set delivery times, and sync to their email. Texters can even engage in group chats.

The app does come with one stipulation, though. MightyText requires the installation of a specific client to operate. Said client can be installed via a Chrome extension, Mozilla Firefox add-on, or Safari plugin. Overall, MightyText is an exceedingly intuitive app that offers bountiful convenience.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows applications to access information about networks.

CALL_PHONE: Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.
CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE: Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting. If you don't request this permission, you will not receive the broadcast at that time. Though holding this permission does not have any security implications, it can have a negative impact on the user experience by increasing the amount of time it takes the system to start and allowing applications to have themselves running without the user being aware of them. As such, you must explicitly declare your use of this facility to make that visible to the user.
